Integrity maybe a vanishing commodity. In a world where getting ahead is more important than doing what’s right, personal integrity is collateral damage. As we become more alienated from each other it becomes all to easy to overlook one or two little things because they “don’t matter when we consider the big picture”. Perhaps it is time to reconsider whether the greater harm in looking the other way or choosing to “let it slide” is to our own soul and spirituality.
I look to Gandhi as a model of personal integrity. Most religious traditions have one or more persons we can look to for guidance. Perhaps with a little effort we can help the world reclaim personal integrity by making choice that restores our own integrity.
